About the Role
We are looking for a Part-time Contract-to-hire Human Resources Manager to own and coordinate the full employee and contractor lifecycle, from recruiting and onboarding through performance management, employee relations, compliance, and offboarding. This role has the potential to become a W2 position after 6 months.
This role is highly organized and hands-on, with responsibility for making sure HR processes are completed accurately, on time, and with appropriate follow-through across managers, employees, contractors, payroll, and external providers for a staff of approximately 25. This role will require roughly 60 hours per month.
Schedule & Compensation
This is a part-time, fully remote, flexible position with availability during normal US business hours. Compensation $35 / hour to start.
Key Responsibilities
Lead recruiting, including job postings, candidate screening, assessments, interviews, references, offers, and candidate communications.
Coordinate employee and contractor onboarding, documentation, benefits, payroll setup, and first-day activities.
Manage compensation, benefits, HR records, and payroll-related changes.
Oversee performance management, employee relations, workplace concerns, investigations, and disciplinary processes.
Administer leave, accommodations, and return-to-work processes.
Maintain HR policies, employee handbooks, required notices, and compliance practices.
Monitor employment requirements and identify potential classification, compliance, and multi-state or international employment issues.
Manage employee and contractor offboarding, including documentation, final payments, access removal, and company property.
Maintain accurate and confidential employee and contractor records in Rippling and company personnel files.
Coordinate HR processes across multiple stakeholders, ensuring clear ownership, deadlines, communication, and completion.
Advise managers and leadership on HR matters, employee relations, performance, compliance, and organizational changes.
Maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment when handling sensitive employee information.
Qualifications
5+ years of experience in HR
Strong knowledge of HR administration, recruiting, benefits, compensation, employee relations, and compliance
Excellent organization, communication, and follow-through
Strong judgment and discretion with confidential information
Ability to manage multiple priorities and coordinate across teams
Experience with an HRIS; Rippling experience is a plus
Experience supporting a multistate, fully remote workforce
Experience administering international contractor relationships strongly preferred
Ability to work independently while partnering effectively with managers and leadership
Must be US-based and eligible to work in the US for any employer without sponsorship
